Monitoring strategy of COVID-19 vaccination in dialysis patients based on a multiplex immunodot method: The CovidDial study
CONCLUSION: Three doses of mRNA-1273 vaccine induce a robust but time-limited immunologic response in dialysis patients. Lower anti-spike antibodies titers after initial vaccination are associated with a higher risk to subsequently contract SARS-CoV-2, even beyond 6 months.PMID:37718617 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13175

Preparation, Purification and Performance Evaluation of Polyclonal Antibody Against SARS-CoV-2 Produced in Rat
CONCLUSION: Herein, we presented a simple and cheap method for the purification of whole viral particles with relatively high quality. The results verified that these antigens could elicit a good immune response in the rat. The obtained pAbs showed a good specificity toward SARS-CoV-2 antigens. Accordingly, this study proposes a promising method for viral vaccine development.PMID:37646054 | PMC:PMC10460799 | DOI:10.34172/apb.2023.059

SARS-CoV-2 Infection and Death Rates Among Maintenance Dialysis Patients During Delta and Early Omicron Waves - United States, June 30, 2021-September 27, 2022
MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep. 2023 Aug 11;72(32):871-876. doi: 10.15585/mmwr.mm7232a4.ABSTRACTPersons receiving maintenance dialysis are at increased risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection and its severe outcomes, including death. However, rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19-related deaths in this population are not well described. Since November 2020, CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) has collected weekly data monitoring incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infections (defined as a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result) and COVID-19-related deaths (defined as the death of a patient who had not fully recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infe...

Safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in patients on dialysis: a multicentre cohort study in Italy
CONCLUSIONS: The vaccination program against SARS-CoV-2 in the haemodialysis population showed an effectiveness and safety profile comparable to that seen in the general population.PMID:37490271 | DOI:10.1007/s40620-023-01708-7
